Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at rescuepackorg@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Full Participation Guidelines can be found here. Adhering to our guidelines is mandatory for every organization that picks up goods from us.  Please note: Failure to adhere to program guidelines may result in removal from an upcoming distribution(s) or permanent removal from the program, depending on the nature and frequency of the infraction(s).

Follow Rescue Pack on Facebook for information on upcoming distributions.

Emailing rescuepackorg@gmail.com is the quickest way to update things including an organization's contact info, address, or phone number.  You can also use this email to add or remove individuals from your organization's contact list.

The fee for each pallet to cover shipping and handling costs may vary but is generally 15¢ per pound.

Our program is designed to support organizations that have a consistent and significant number of animals in their care. To ensure efficient distribution and maximize our impact, we require participating organizations to have a minimum of  10 dogs or 10 cats available for adoption at all times. The size of the pallets we distribute, potential expiration dates, and the logistics involved make it challenging to accommodate smaller groups. By focusing on organizations with a larger number of animals, we can ensure that resources reach as many pets in need as possible.

It is impossible for us to search through organizations social media feeds to look for amounts of animals posted. Being posted to pages such as a rescue's website, adoptapet.com, or petfinder.com allow quick searches to verify animals, spay/neuter policies, adoption process, what the adoption fees cover, and more.

We care for cats, but we can't sustainably feed all feral populations. It's impossible for us to ensure that every colony cat is spayed or neutered. Feeding them without this control adds to the overpopulation issue, which exacerbates the need for resource allocation.

Initially, we accepted applications for farm and wildlife rescues with the expectation of receiving food for these animals. However, almost all donations are for cats or dogs. Farms and wildlife are beyond our scope. If resources become steadily available, we may open distributions to these organizations in the future.

Our mission is to support adoptable dogs and cats as well as helping families keep their pets in the homes that love them. Rescue Pack considers sanctuary animals property of the organization and due to the decline in donations we receive it is no longer unsustainable for Rescue Pack to offer support to organizations with non-adoptable dogs and cats.

 Pallet Dimensions:

  • Width: 4 ft
  • Length: 4 ft
  • Height: Up to 6 ft

Pallet Weight: Weights Vary, Maximum is Approximately 2200lbs

We recommend renting from Ryder or Penske. U-Haul Is also an option, but please note — their rear wheel wells prevent side-by-side pallet loading.

Trucks with interior wheel well covers restrict side-by-side pallet loading.

Example:

If you rent a 12-foot truck with wheel wells, Rescue Pack can only load three pallets in the center, instead of six placed side by side.

These restrictions are common in U-Haul trucks. For better loading efficiency, we recommend renting from Penske or Ryder, which offer more spacious and pallet-friendly options.

At Saturday Distributions we have a Free Corner. The items located in the “corner” are provided by Rescue Pack and are free for any organization that can use them.

  • We operate on a "first-come, first-served" basis.
  • We kindly ask for mutual respect and consideration when taking items.
  • Please only take what you truly need, so others who arrive later can also benefit from these resources.

If you receive items that don’t match your confirmation, please notify us immediately so we can resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

  • Mistakes happen, and we understand that some products or labels may look very similar.
  • It’s absolutely okay to ask us about any discrepancies.
  • We know some people hesitate to inquire, but our top priority is ensuring you receive exactly what you expected.

  • Goods purchased through Rescue Pack’s program are strictly for your organization’s use. They cannot be purchased with the intent of sharing with other rescues or taking it out of state. Participation approval is granted solely to the applying organization.
  • If you receive goods on pallets that you cannot use, please contact us via email at rescuepackorg@gmail.com. There is no blanket approval for sharing; you must receive written approval each time you wish to share items outside of your organization.
  • Sharing anything without written approval will result in termination from our program.
  • Rescue Pack has stringent criteria for participation to ensure that all participants align with our mission and goals. Allowing bypasses of these standards would undermine the integrity of our program.

No. Selling anything received through Rescue Pack will result in termination from our program.

Rescue Pack cannot guarantee additional food beyond what is needed for the animals in your organization's care. If you are a rescue/shelter and wish to request food for a pantry, please note this in the request tool when signing up for food. Be sure to include the pantry date or the name of the recipient pantry. If extra food is available, we will do our best to accommodate your request.
